The role & you

Sitting within our Waste Services Department you will play a key role in supporting the Landfill Supervisor in the efficient operation of our Gloucester Waste Management Facility. This position involves a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

You will have a basic understanding of EPA License conditions along with good customer service skills to effectively interact with facility users. Additionally, experience in cash handling and basic computer literacy is required to manage transactions and perform necessary administrative tasks.

We are seeking a reliable, team-focused individual who demonstrates a commitment to working safely and delivering high quality outcomes for our community.

Please note that to be a successful candidate for this role you’ll be required to complete a pre-employment medical check (this will include a drug and alcohol test, sight and hearing, functional and medical component)

Salary: Commencing hourly rate of $27.47/hour plus superannuation. Penalty rates apply where applicable.

Location: Upon commencement your normal place of work will be the Gloucester Waste Management Facility located at 385 Thunderbolts Way, Gloucester. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Part-time - 50 hours a fortnight

Playgroup/Reading Builds Awesome Brains Aboriginal Coordinator – 6 Month Maternity Position January 24 to July 24

Child Care Services Taree & Districts Inc. are seeking an enthusiastic, motived person to coordinate a Community Playgroup/ Reading Builds Awesome Brains Literacy program.

This position is a temporary part time maternity position 19.5 hours (3days) per week. Monday Wednesday and Thursday each week from January 2024 to July 2024.

Duties include preparation and set up for Playgroup sessions, outreach to families who are not able to attend sessions, planning and delivering Reading Builds Awesome Brains Literacy Program to parents through Playgroups in the local area.

CCSTD is a community based not for profit service based in Taree providing a range of programs to children and families throughout the Mid Coast Council area.

 

This is an unpaid volunteer role

7 -14 hours per week (flexible)

Volunteer Support Coordinator

We are looking for an passionate and dedicated person to join our growing volunteer team to help coordinate a team of volunteers to support the operations of the Great Lakes Womens Shelter.

This is an exciting time to join our team as you will be involved in establishing the engagement and induction of suitable volunteers as well as coordinating a strong team.

Support coordinator will report to and be supported by the team leader to ensure smooth operations of the program.

Sample of some volunteer tasks:

·         Setting up bedrooms

·         Cooking with residents

·         Life skills with residents

·         Homework club / reading corner with children

·         Gardening maintenance

·         Vegetable garden creation and maintenance

·         Property maintenance and repairs

·         transporting clients to appointments

Key Accountabilities

Volunteer induction

Ensure WWCC and police checks are completed prior to volunteers being engaged in work and remain up to date.

Develop and maintain effective feedback communications and forums with the volunteer workforce.

Ensure all volunteers are appropriately on-boarded and inducted to the Centre.

Volunteer Supervision and Support

Coordinate, supervise and support volunteers to achieve operational and organisational outcomes.

Provide informal support to volunteers.

Develop and deliver a calendar of events that recognise the contribution that volunteers bring to GLWS

Volunteer Training and Development

Develop and maintain an accurate data base of available volunteers.

Volunteer rosters are developed and implemented monthly using a suitable system.

Develop and implement policies and procedures for volunteer program

Essential Criteria

Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, as well as a strong team player

Ability and willingness to deliver orientation and induction to volunteers

Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills

Computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (E.g. Outlook, Microsoft Word)

Working with Children Check

National Criminal Record Check

Current, unrestricted NSW drivers licence
